Typical Fiber Hut Design
RuCon Engineers was asked to create a ‘Typical’ Fiber Hut to use as a standard model in high density municipal fiber deployments.
The client needed a base model design that could be easily scaled and customized to the specific site conditions and network architecture for the serving area of each hut location. Each hut would house a varying amount of network hardware and fiber distribution system based on an automated open access network design running on an active ethernet FTTP topography. Full back-up power systems and environmental controls were required in each unit.
RuCon Engineers accomplished this task by taking the components specified by the client, using extensive experience in hut layout and design, and produced a full featured hut that is standard enough to apply throughout the project, but flexible enough to adapt to specific locations.
